NOS Travel Awards

The Division of Organic Chemistry will provide up to thirty travel awards ($500/award) for undergraduate students to help cover registration and expenses for the 46th National Organic Chemistry Symposium at the Indiana University—Bloomington. Student applicants must be engaged in at least one significant research project, and have the intent to enter graduate school in chemistry. They are encouraged to be members (or affiliate members) of the Division of Organic Chemistry. The award recipient must present a poster at the meeting. There is a limit of one student award per institution. The deadline to apply is April 30th.

The Division of Organic Chemistry will provide up to ten Awards ($600/award) to faculty at undergraduate institutions to cover registration and a portion of expenses for the 46th National Organic Chemistry Symposium at the Indiana University—Bloomington. Applicants must be research-active faculty members at primarily undergraduate institutions. They are encouraged to be members (or affiliate members) of the Division of Organic Chemistry. Awardees are required to present a poster at the symposium. There is a limit of one faculty award per institution. The deadline to apply is April 30th.

New this year, the Division of Organic Chemistry will provide up to fifteen travel awards ($500/award) for graduate students to help cover registration and expenses for the 46th National Organic Chemistry Symposium at the Indiana University—Bloomington. Applicants are encouraged to be members (or affiliate members) of the Division of Organic Chemistry. The award recipient must present a poster at the meeting. There is a limit of one student award per institution. The deadline to apply is May 31st.

Submittal Process:
You will need to submit your application as a single PDF file. Please name the file using the following format:

Yourlastname_Yourfirstname_NOS_TravelAward.pdf.
For example: Smith_John_NOS_TravelAward.pdf.

Your file should have the following parts in the following order:

1) A brief biographical sketch with a description of relevant research experience;
2) A copy of the confirmation email indicating that you have successfully submitted a poster to the 46th NOS;
3) A letter of support from the applicant’s research advisor, which should include relevant GPA/grade information (only required for travel awards for undergraduate students);
4) A memo from the department chair stating that you are the only applicant from this institution for this award-an institution can submit an application for one undergraduate faculty award and one undergraduate award;
5) Your resume/CV.
